Deep Vision Shield | smart safety helmet | 2018

I led the design, prototyping and testing of Deep Vision Shield, a fully working smart safety helmet ideated within the Augmented Health and Safety. Future vision project. The helmet is embedded with miniaturized sensors to monitor real-time acute and long-term exposure to hazardous gas and noise. It also provides information on ambient risks and dangers through a Head Mounted Display, which is controlled by gesture and voice recognition. The system was tested with 13 users, to collect feedback and refine the solution. (MIT Design Lab for Eni)
